THE STORY:

In a thrilling tale of adventure, Day of the Diesels showcases the classic rivalry between the Diesel engines and the Steam engines on the Island of Sodor.

There's a fire on Sodor! Thomas and his best friend Percy fight the fire until Flynn and Belle, two new fire engines who are experts at putting out fires, arrive to save the day.

When Thomas starts to spend all his time with Flynn and Belle, Percy feels left out. Diesel uses Percy's loneliness to lure him to the Dieselworks.

At the Dieselworks, which is run by Den and his feisty assistant Dart (when Diesel 10 is not around) Percy is made to feel very special by none other than the master of mischief Diesel 10!

As Percy spends all his time with the Diesels, chaos ensues and Thomas becomes trapped at the Dieselworks!

Only when the Diesels are running amok in the Sodor Steamworks does Percy realise his folly in trusting Diesel 10. Percy then wastes no time in rallying his Steamie friends to retake the Steamworks and save Thomas!

The movie will introduce seven new characters and reintroduce Diesel 10, the most devious of all Diesels, and the new Dieselworks destination, the diesel version of the Sodor Steamworks.

Mystery Engines:
To celebrate the DVD, we are happy to be able to offer customers limited edition "mystery engines" - these are specially commissioned oil-splattered versions of 4 key characters - Thomas, Percy, Salty and Devious Diesel. They come in Day of the Diesels packaging with an opaque blue blister pack over the front, so you do not know what train is inside (hence the mystery).

New Destinations:
We are not aware of any new Destinations that are being released to coincide with the film. The Dieselworks will be available in a playset (see below). Certain Destinations that feature in the film are already available for the Thomas Wooden Railway System. They are:
Search and Resue Centre (Harold's Helipad) - specialist stock not on UK release
Captain's Shed - Lifeboat House (includes and launches Captain)
The Tidmouth Sheds - a new look roundhouse - specialist stock not on UK release
